Toss Update:
Welcome to the toss update of second T20I. I’m with SHAHEEN and Kane Williamson with the match refry Jeff Crowe in a hunting match. Pakistan is looking hungry and bouncing back.
Pakistan has won the toss and decided similar like first T20I, they are fielding first. Best Wishes with both teams for wining a match. Can Pakistan beat New Zealand this time? Before starting the match, let’s have a look at the playing xi.
Squads Review:
New Zealand (Playing xi): Finn Allen, Convey, Williamson (Captain), Daryl Mitchell (Wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Milne, SANTNER, Southee, ISH SODHI, Ben Sears.
Pakistan (Playing xi): Rizwan, SAIM AYUB, Babar Azzam, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azzam Khan (Wicketkeeper), AMER Jamal, Usama Mir, SHAHEEN Afridi (Captain), Abbas Afridi, HARIS Rauf.
Umpires and Match Referee:
Wayne Knights and Kim Cotton are the fielder umpires while Shaun Haig will be addressing on the third umpire seat. As I discussed before, Jeff Crowe is the match referee for this hunting second T20I 2024. .
Opening Batters:
Finn Allen and convey are two opening batters here for a hot start. They are looking hungry to watch. Can they make special knock here against the Pakistan at Seddon Park, Hamilton? SHAHEEN will attack both. He is looking hungry to get early on wickets in the home conditions of New Zealand.
Hamilton Stadium:
A charming city of nature in the Waikato region of New Zealand’s North Island. A well atmospheric city is representing an international Cricket match. It is inviting the Pakistan team to run like a pro.
A stadium with a capacity of a range between 10 thousand to 30 thousand. It has two ends, member ends and city end for the bowling prospects.
Finn Allen:
What a dramatic start by a hard batsman who replaces the well-known personality Martin GUPTIL who has been retired from an international cricket but still playing in T20I leagues with his power hunting.
Finn Allen charges the Pakistani bowlers, initially Harris Rauf in the second over of a match. The over goes for 12 runs and he continues to charge and give Pakistan to backfoot. He continues his form in this match. He had an average of 14 balls and could not stop and got out on the bowl of USAMA after hitting a long six.
The Target:
New Zealand rocks again in the second match against Pakistan. Finn Allen was almost unstoppable he played a huge knock. New Zealand sets the target of 195 in 20 overs with the required run rate of 9.75. Can Pakistan beat New Zealand and get comeback in this series?
Chase able total:
A total of 195 is not easy in New Zealand against the special and dangerous bowlers. Although,
Pakistan bowled brilliantly in second T20I while they were totally out of mind in first T20I that’s why they set a target of 226. Pakistan lost the first match with the huge margin of 46 runs after a good start of openers. SAIM starts brilliantly, he is playing his second international series. He made his debut against Afghanistan in Dubai.
SAIM AND RIZWAN:
Both are on the crease and making this totally easy and early on. From there, Tim Southee starts his spell. Rizwan takes the strike, and he moves offside and hits a huge six into the crowd. This shot was more like a sweep. Hold on! Pakistan lost the first wicket in the first over. Tim Southee was known that SAIM play this shot into leg side and the fielder was already set to catch it. This happened early on. A worst start to the series and the second match.
Powerplay Overview:
Powerplay is very important, especially in T20I Cricket. Here we are with some facts between them. New Zealand made 65 runs after losing two wickets in the powerplay. While
Pakistan made 61 runs after losing same as New Zealand.
New Zealand wins the powerplay by four runs after losing in first T20I match. All the credit goes to Finn Allen who knows how to play in home conditions.
Pakistan Lost:
Bad to hear that Pakistan lost the match by 21 runs and make it worse start of 5 T20I Series against New Zealand at Seddon Park. Pakistan could not finish it well. Although, Babar AZAM played an important role and made a crucial fifty where Fakher Zaman was the only batsman who supports the BABAR while making the big Partnership. Fakhar Zaman made a fifty after hitting two fours continuously and got out on the third ball of Adam Milne. Adam Milne shows aggression and celebrates the big Wicket.
Match Summary:
The match summary is simple for the second T20I match. From New Zealand, there was only Finn who made fifty plus score and the other batters could not 30 plus scores and got out respectively.
From Pakistan, BABAR played an interesting knock again in the second T20I. This time Fakhar Zaman supports BABAR and made a good partnership. Although, he got out badly on the ball of Adam Milne.
Man of the Match:
Finn Allen is the man of the match who get medal and prize money on extraordinary performance. He hits 5 sixes and 7 fours in his entire ING with the strike rate of 180 which kept the match from the hunt of mouth of Pakistan. Well Deserved man for this award. Best wishes for the second match at Hamilton.
See you again on January 17, 2024, at Dunedin Cricket ground.
